WINONA R. CARAWAN

Winona Richardson Carawan, 84, of 305 Moonfield Drive, died Tuesday, March 26, 1996, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News.

She was a native of Florence, N.C., and a housewife. Mrs. Carawan had resided in South Norfolk for more than 50 years before moving to Smithfield in 1994. She was a member of Rosemount Christian Church, South Norfolk.

She is survived by her husband, Rupert Royal Carawan; son, Bobby E. Carawan of Smithfield; sister, Minnie R. Rawls of Norfolk; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Luke's Memorial Park, Smithfield, with the Rev. Jay Ashby officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence, 305 Moonfield Drive, and suggests memorial donations be made to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, Va. 23431. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
