Letter from the city clerk advising that the Mace and Police Honor Guard have been requested for use during the 43rd International Azalea Festival. Approved.
Regular agenda
Matter of a public hearing on the application of Philip Harman and others for closing, vacating and discontinuing a portion of Willoughby Bay Avenue. (This item was passed by at the meetings of Feb. 13 and March 12.) Continued.
A resolution endorsing Norfolk's Virginia Juvenile Community Crime Control Act plan for the Norfolk Division of Youth Services Program from Jan. 1, 1996, through June 30, 1997. Approved.

An ordinance creating and deleting positions in various departments of the city, providing funds for salaries and amending the city's July 1, 1995, compensation plan. Approved.
An ordinance to amend and re-ordain section 25-654 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, by repealing subsections 58, 62, 259, and 261 and amending section 25-654, to add five subsections relating to stop signs. Approved.
An ordinance accepting the offer of Aubrey J. Ellis to purchase certain city-owned property next to Yarmouth Street. Approved.
An ordinance approving acceptance of jail canteen funds and appropriating $50,000, if and when received from the Norfolk sheriff. Continued for two weeks.
An ordinance accepting and appropriating a $15,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services for the troops-to-cops program will be introduced in writing and read by its title. Approved.
