SCOUT ATTAINS RANK OF EAGLE

Russell E. ``Rusty'' Davis, son of Ned and Detra Davis of Baydon Lane in Chesapeake, will be presented the highest rank in Boy G1CPEAG29 Davis

Scouting, the Eagle award, at a Court of Honor April 8 at Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.

Davis, 17, is a junior at Great Bridge High School. He is a member of Troop 6, sponsored by Great Bridge Baptist Church.

Davis began his Scouting career in 1988 as a Webelos Scout in Pack 519 in Greenville, S.C, where he earned the Arrow of Light award.

Davis' Eagle service project involved landscaping the front of Great Bridge High School, removing existing plants and replanting the area with grass bordered by a holly hedge.

Davis plays in the Great Bridge High School, All-City and Regional orchestras and in several string quartet groups. He also has studied cello and piano and has won scholarships from the Chesapeake Fine Arts Commission to further those studies.

His hobbies include hunting, fishing and hiking, and he plays baseball, soccer and roller hockey.

After graduation from high school, Davis plans to attend college at Bob Jones University in South Carolina, where he plans to major in chemistry. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
