Nominations are due April 12 for the annual Gladstone M. Hill Friend of the Arts Award.
Given by the Portsmouth Museums and Fine Arts Commission, the award honors Dr. Hill, a former commission chairman and a long-time supporter of the museums. Hill was the first recipient in 1993.
The commission set forth the following criteria for nominees: demonstrated commitment to the arts and humanities through advocacy, volunteerism, cash or in-kind contributions; membership in cultural organizations; purchase of art; attendance at performances and exhibitions in this community.
The nominee may not be a current member of the commission or on the museum staffs. The nomination may consider not only an individual but a family or organization that meets the criteria.
