Harvey E. Massey, 74, of the 4900 block of Farrington Drive, died March 28, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
He was a retired self-employed general contractor and a native of Danville, Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee Massey; three daughters, Connie Oppleman of Norfolk, Dempress Castle of Virginia Beach, Cathy Carlsen of Norfolk; two stepdaughters, Pat Johnson of Chesapeake, Pam Cox of Kentuckey; stepson, Jimmy Humblet of Chesapeake; sister, Gaye Gettier of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Harry Massey of Suffolk, Charley Massey of Danville; nine grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Ernest L. Trublood. Burial is in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
