Republicans in Norfolk and Virginia Beach will elect chairpersons for their city committees at mass meetings on Saturday.
The Norfolk GOP is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m at Granby High School. R. Wayne Nunnally, a Norfolk attorney and longtime GOP activist, is running unopposed for the chairmanship.
Virginia Beach Republicans are slated to meet at 10 a.m. at Cox High School. Three candidates are vying for the chairmanship: J.P. Godsey, a stockbroker; Delceno Miles, a recently appointed School Board member; and Jim Totten, a longtime party activist.
Both city committees also will elect delegates to the Second Congressional District convention slated for April 18. There, three delegates will be elected to attend the Republican national convention this summer in San Diego. by CNB
