NO FUSSING: IT'S NOT PRODUCTIVE

Portsmouth Community Development Group received some low blows in a recent City Council meeting, when some of their beneficiaries sounded off on foot-dragging response to complaints about remodeled houses.

The PCDG project in Prentis Place has done wonders, bringing respectable people back to the neighborhood and driving away littering loiterers.

``We simply need a checks-and-balance system,'' Mary Watson of Gilmerton Avenue said. ``If we set about bickering with one another, we might as well welcome the drug dealers back.''

Amen! That's good advice for any neighborhood and the whole city.

Whatever the problem, instead of complaining and trying to bring down a project, everybody can be constructive and build up Portsmouth. by CNB
