Joann Hairston, 48, of the 500 block of Roosevelt Blvd., died March 26, 1996.
She was employed with The Virginian-Pilot. Born in Danville, she was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the National Guard.
Survivors include her mother, Virginia A. Hairston; a sister, Deryl Winborne; a brother, Joe Allen Hairston; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; three nephews; two aunts; an uncle and several cousins.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Ben A. Beamer in Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
