Ruth Lash Smith, 86, of the 800 block of Jefferson St., died March 28, 1996.
Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., she was the widow of Eugene Smith. She was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, the Relief Usher Board, and Truxton Chapter (NU)63 Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one sister, Nelia Davis; two grandchildren, Amos Taylor and Gloria Taylor.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Curtis Edmonds in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
