Lloyd McCoy Meekins, Jr., 58, of 515 22nd St., died Friday, March 29, 1996, in his residence.
He was a native of Avon, N.C., and was the loving husband of Jean Whedbee Meekins. He retired in 1975 after 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, and was a veteran of Vietnam.
In addition to his loving wife, Jean, he is survived by two daughters, Vickie L. Gray and her husband, Don E. Gray Jr. and Tammy L. Meekins, all of Virginia Beach; one half-brother, Arthur Gray of Florida; two grandsons, Eric Tyler Gray and Brandyn M. Meekins, both of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, April 1 at 2 p.m. in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery, 2020 Laskin Road by Rev. Richard J. Yates. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, 23513. The family will be at the residence. Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue Chapel is handling the arrangements.
