Alma Fleming Story, 86, of West Maple St., died early Saturday, March 30, 1996, in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Story was born in Halifax County, N.C. The daughter of the late Fred Vance and Mrs. Julia Ann Bateman Fleming, she was a retired seamstress and a member of Gatesville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Story.
Surviving are one sister, Geneva F. Felton of Eure; two brothers, Vance Fleming of Elizabeth City and Wilbur Fleming of Newport News; five nieces; four nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. in Gatesville Baptist Church by the Rev. Ric Durham and the Rev. Wayne Whiting. Burial will follow in the Gatesville Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family following the service in the church social hall and all other times at the home of her sister, Hwy. 137, Eure. Memorial contributions may be made to Gatesville Baptist Church or Gates County Rescue Squad.
