Myrtle Long Mitchell, 74, of the 100 block of Cedar St., died April 16, 1996, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C.
She was a homemaker and a native of Columbus County, N.C. She was a member of Colerain Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Elvin Mitchell; sister, Ora Lee Simmons of Lumberton, N.C.; two brothers, Rowland Long of Clarkton, N.C., and Royal Long of Whiteville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Robert M. Kelley in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie. Entombment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Lumberton. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial donations may be made to the Colerain Rescue Squad, Colerain, 27924.
