William H. Barrett, 81, of the 1000 block of Charity Drive, died April 15, 1996, in a Virginia Beach Hospital.
He was a retired budget analyst for the civil service. He was a native of Wilkes Barre, Pa., and was a Methodist. He was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia S. Barrett; daughter, Diane B. Latham and her husband, James, of Gaithersburg, Md.; brother, the Rev. Harold Barrett of Pennsylvania; grandchild, James Kevin Latham of Gastonia, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Entombment is in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 5349 E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, 23502.
