Robert Everard Cutchin, 80, a resident of Point Loma for 45 years, died Feb. 13, at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Calif.
Born in Portsmouth in 1915, Mr. Cutchin enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934. He attained the rank of lieutenant commander before being discharged in 1956.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia J. Cutchin of San Jose, Calif., and a brother, Willis Cutchin of West Augusta, Va.
Services were held Feb. 20, 1996, at El Camino Mortuary Chapel.
