Marjorie Elizabeth Beshears Evans, 68, of the 1600 block of Mill Landing Road, died April 2, 1996, at a Virginia Beach hospital. She was a native of Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Lockwood F. Evans; a daughter, Mary E. Hecht and her husband, Morton E. Hecht III, of Norfolk; three sons, Lockwood D. ``Buddy'' Evans and his wife, Betty Gillette Evans of Virginia Beach, Joseph F. Evans of Spring Valley, N.Y., William S. Evans and his wife, Barbara W. Evans of Richmond; two sisters, Myrtle ``Beanie'' Howard of Norfolk, Ruth N. Brown and her husband, Wilbur Brown of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Evan M. Hecht, Kelli M. Evans, Mallory L. Evans, and Cheyenne E. Evans.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach S.P.C.A. or to the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Evans was a devoted wife to her husband of 50 years and supported him throughout his 26-year Naval career. She was devoted to her children, her grandchildren, and animals of all types.
