Melva Pallett Carroll, 65, of the 1500 block of Princess Anne Road, died April 1, 1996, at her residence.
Mrs. Carroll, the widow of Richard B. Carroll Sr., was a native of Norfolk. She was a member of Charity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Carroll of Virginia Beach, Tina Marie Stevens of Georgia; five sons, Dickie Ewell of Virginia Beach, Dana Carroll of Colorado Springs, Colo., Richie Carroll of Richmond, Chuck Carroll of Germany, Thomas D. Ewell of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Marion Patterson and Pearl Basnight, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Charles ``Buddy'' Pallett of Chesapeake; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Charity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Talmadge T. Markham. Burial will be in Charity Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
