JOHN W. BIERS

John William Biers passed away suddenly April 1, 1996.

Mr. Biers was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had resided in Virginia Beach for the past 25 years. He was a retired computer sales manager and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Alice; and six loving daughters, Alice Baker and her husband, Floyd of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Marie Biers of Fairfax Station, Va., Eileen Sanders and her husband, Chet of South Glens Falls, N.Y., Christine Wallace and her husband, Randy of Virginia Beach, Kathleen Doxey and her husband, Clifford of Suffolk, Lynn Meise and her husband, David of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Biers is also survived by three sisters, Mabel Morgan and her husband, Leslie of Lighthouse Point, Fla., Dorothy Weeden and her husband, Daniel of Punta Gorda, Fla., Marie Dooley and her husband, William of Seaford, N.Y.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of the Ressurection will be celebrated by Father Dwight Shrader at 5 p.m. Thursday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 2186 Sandbridge Road, Virginia Beach. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 800 Los Conaes Way, Virginia Beach, 23456, or to Courthouse Rescue Squad, Virginia Beach.
