A 25-year-old Virginia Beach man was killed Tuesday morning when he was thrown from his car after it hit a utility pole.
Police said Todd H. Glaser of the 1100 block of Vermilya Court was eastbound on Oceana Boulevard near Harper's Road about 4:45 a.m. when he rounded a curve, lost control and ran off the right side of the road. He was alone.
As the late-model Ford left the road, it hit the utility pole and overturned, throwing Glaser from the car. The car's roof came to rest on Glaser, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Glaser may have been speeding and was not wearing a seat belt.
