Newport News-based nView Corp has shipped the initial production run of a new multimedia projector, the nView Diamond D-400. The Diamond D-400 is the first commercially available product to incorporate the latest in digital imaging technology, the Digital Light Processing subsystem developed by Texas Instruments Inc. The Diamond D-400 is a multimedia projector capable of projecting images from a wide variety of computer and video sources. nView designs and manufactures electronic image projection devices. Reynolds Metals Co. said that a wholly owned subsidiary has formed a joint venture with a Chinese partner to produce aluminum foil and other products in that country. Reynolds International (China) Ltd., China International Trust and Investment Corp. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Shortridge Ltd., Hong Kong, hold all of the equity in the venture, Bohai Aluminium Industries Ltd. The joint venture will manufacture aluminum foil, primarily for customers in the food, pharmaceutical and tobacco industries. (AP) MEMO: Editor's note
