Hamburgers will be bigger and souvenir prices smaller at Harbor Park this season.
Like gourmet coffee? Micro-brewed beer? Both are new additions to the park. A portable coffee cart will traverse the concourse, while the beer will be available - along with the usual national name brands - on the concourse and in the restaurant.
A new slush drink - Icee - has been added to the menu.
Hits at the Park, the 270-seat restaurant situated in the rightfield corner, has undergone a radical menu alteration, from all-buffet to a-la-carte. Now, instead of paying $15 for all-you-can-eat, there are entrees on the menu ranging from $6 to $11. The buffet still will be offered for day games and Sundays, but the old buffet area has been converted into a cocktail area to accommodate the increasing number of people partying at the park after games.
Hamburgers will now weigh one-third of a pound (pre-cooked and up from one-quarter pound), but at $2.75 will remain the same price as last year.
According to new concessions general manager Scott Lorow, the price on 90 percent of the souvenirs has dropped. Caps have gone from $25 to $20. Tides shirts, which maxed out at $40 a year ago, stop at $37 this season and can go for as low as $14. ILLUSTRATION: Graphic
