JARVIS SMITH

Jarvis Smith of the 1400 block of West 40th St. West died April 2, 1996, in a local hospital.

He was a native of Roxobel, N.C., and was a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Smith of Patterson, N.J.; two sisters, Ruby Gallion of Norfolk and Jimetta Casper of Roxobel, N.C.; a brother, Russell Smith of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Anthony Moses in Graves Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at 1405 W. 40th St.
