VERNIECE L. WILKINS

Verniece Laverne Wilkins, 41, of the 900 block of Foxridge Trail, died Monday, April 1, 1996, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Mrs. Wilkins was born in the Virgin Islands and was the daughter of Beryl Edwards Smith and the late William Smith. She was a nursing supervisor with Sentara Nursing Center. She was a member of Cedar Road Assembly of God.

Other survivors include her husband, Olric Ricardo Wilkins; her two sons, Olric Ricardo Wilkins II and David Wilkins, both of Chesapeake; four sisters, Bernice Bryant of Opalaka, Fla., Joycelyn Gumbs, Flora Donovan, and Desme Saint Claire, all of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; four brothers, Paul Smith of St. Thomas, William Smith of Orlando, Fla., and Noel Smith and Elvis Edwards, both of Fayetteville, N.C.

A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, on Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Ben Bonnici. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Portsmouth-Chespaeake Unit, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513.
