Mrs. Caroline Maddrey Holmes, 79, of 964 Reservoir Ave., Norfolk, died April 3, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
She was a native of Nansemond County, Va., and was retired Leigh Memorial Hospital after 28 years. She was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville, Va.
She was predeceased by her parents, Willie Maddrey and Lucy Hill Maddrey and her husband, George Holmes. She is survived by two daughters, Ms. Faye McClendon of Alexandria, Va., and Ms. Adraine Matthews of Norfolk; devoted friend, Joesephus Hall of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Amie M. Grant and Mrs. Bertha M. Knight of Carrsville; aunt, Mrs. Rosa Taylor of Norfolk; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville by Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Burial is in Knight Family Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge.
