The Chesapeake Education Association's political action committee on Thursday announced its endorsements for the upcoming City Council election.
The CEA has endorsed Edward L. Hall Jr., incumbent Dwight M. Parker and Elizabeth P. Thorton for the three open seats on the council. The CEA also endorsed incumbent Mayor William E. Ward in his re-election bid.
The CEA earlier endorsed candidates for the School Board - James J. Wheaton, Allen H. Goode Jr., Harry A. Murphy and Thomas L. Mercer Sr.
Chesapeake Education Association includes about 1,500 Chesapeake teachers.
The election to fill three seats on the City Council, the mayor's seat, and four seats on the School Board will be held Tuesday, May 7. The last day to register to vote is Monday. by CNB
