ENGLISH ONLY?

The ``official-English'' issue causes me some embarrassment at being American. Globally, it is well-known that Americans speak only English, for the most part, because we are too lazy to learn second or third languages.

In other parts of the world, a large proportion of populations speak two or more languages (one of them being English, so they can sell things to Americans).

Must we advertise our failure in learning? This reminds me of a sign on a boys' clubhouse: NO GURLZ.
