RAYMOND C. HIGHTOWER

Raymond C. Hightower, 60, died Tuesday, April 2, 1996, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hightower was born in Norfolk April 25, 1935. He was raised and educated there. He was a graduate of Old Dominion University. He served with the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. From 1971 to 1989 he was a special agent with U.S. Customs Service. Prior to that, he had worked as an agent wit the NIS, the FBI, and with DEA. He was retired. He was a long-time active member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Federal Agents Retirement Association. He enjoyed collecting model trains.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Jackson Hightower, who he married in 1980 at Mercer Island, Wash.; two sons, Raymond C. Hightower Jr. of Norfolk and Andrew Hightower of Kingston; two step-sons, Richard Case of Union, Wash., and William Case of Bellingham, Wash.; three daughters, Kathi Ballard of Essex, Patricia, Amanda and Megan Hightower, all of Kingston; and a step-daughter, Nancy Burgess of Longview, Wash.; a brother, John Paul Hightower of Salem; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Stone Chapel, Poulsbo, Wash., today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated Monday, April 8, 1996, at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo Inurnment will be in Virginia. Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 557 Roy Street, Seattle, WA 98109. Lewis Funeral Chapel in charge.
