Margaret F. Smith of the 4000 block of Wake Ave. died April 2, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
She was born in Princess Anne County and was an educator for Chesapeake Public Schools and a private-duty nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church, West Munden, and was in the senior choir and on the usher board. She was also a member of Women's Auxiliary of Elks Lodge, Virginia Education Association, National Education Association, and the Chesapeake Education Association. She was a delegate of Virginia Education Association and a volunteer for juvenile Courts of Chesapeake.
She is survived by her husband, Winzoler Smith of Norfolk; a daughter, Marguerite L. Bragg of Chesapeake; two sons, Winzoler Derrick Smith of Chesapeake, Wendell R. Smith of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Robert Forbes, William Forbes and Benjamin Forbes, all of Virginia Beach; and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Monday at noon at First Baptist, West Munden, the Rev. Herbert Wilson and John Ashby presiding. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing Sunday at 3 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. for the processional. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangments.
