Marion ``MeMe'' Elizabeth Bendell Young, 76, of the 900 block of Elder Road died of a heart attack, April 3, 1996 in Sentara Norfolk General.
She was born in Brockton, Mass. and had been a Peninsula resident since 1967. She was a housewife and mother and was a member of the Episcopal church.
She is survived by her husband, Col. (ret.) Robert P. Young; two sons, David Peter Young and his wife Claire Ellen Young of Chesapeake, Bradford George Young of Newport News; two grandchildren, Matthew David Young and Ellen Meredith Young, both of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at Weymouth Funeral Home Nettles Road, the Rev. James King presiding. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory and name to the American Heart Association, Suite 2-B, 753 Thimble Shoals Blvd. Newport News, Va. 23606.
