A worker died Friday when a steel beam fell on him at a construction site, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The accident occurred about 11:50 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Ave.
The beam was being used to shore up part of the second story of a house, the spokesman said.
The victim's identity was withheld until relatives are contacted.
