Herbert Eugene Davis Sr., 75, of the second block of Byers Ave., died April 5, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Davis, a native of Hillsborough, N.C., was retired from Electrician Shop 51 of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Crump Davis; three sons, Herbert E. Davis Jr. of Chesapeake, Ollie W. Davis of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., William Donald Davis of Suffolk; a sister, Ozelle Lee of Timberlake, N.C.; a brother, Sherman J. Davis of Taylorsville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Richard Chasse. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to North Landing Baptist Church, 4080 Foxwood Drive, Virginia Beach.
