I have just returned from my second NCAA regional in the past two years (Richmond and Albany 1995). Electricity filled the air in these cities. Restaurants and hotels were filled to capacity. Sports fans were eager to spend their hard-earned dollars in that community.
In the past 30 days, Richmond has hosted its NCAA, CAA championship, Richmond 500 Nascar Race.
The times are passing Hampton Roads by. It's past time for Hampton Roads to get off its seat and make the commitment to build that coliseum. ``Just do it. Build it, they will come.''
