I am weary over the storm in a teacup regarding the use of ``kid''!
``Kid'' is merely a corruption of the German das kinder (as in kindergarten) meaning ``the children.''
It has nothing to do with goats or any other creature.
Most Americans don't know that only an act of Congress decided that English and not German would be the principle language of this country.
