BANKING
Katherine G. Harrell was promoted to vice president at Central Fidelity National Bank. She currently serves as senior manager for business development in the In-Store Retail Administration area for the Eastern Region. She previously served as branch manager for the Woodford Square branch in Chesapeake.
Joan Marlow Needham was named financial center manager at Virginia Beach Federal Savings Bank, Lynnhaven branch. Before joining Beach Federal, she was a senior financial service officer for Princess Anne Bank.
CONSTRUCTION
M. Dale Mullins was elected president of Falcon Construction Corp. in Norfolk. He has been vice president since 1990 and responsible for the company's transition to a full scale utility contractor. He will remain general manager and oversee all operations for the firm.
Also, David L. Corbin was named vice president. He joined the Falcon in 1991 as concrete superintendent. His new responsibilities include human resources development and public relations. He will retain his position as director of the concrete division.
CREDIT UNION
Sally W. Fontenot was named general manager for the Virginia Beach Schools Federal Credit Union. Fontenot was previously loan manager. She succeeds Judy Hallenbeck who retired in March.
ENGINEERING
Kenneth W. Holden was named project manager at Heflin & Williams in Norfolk. He has previously held senior engineering, project management, production control, planning and estimating positions in both commercial and naval shipyards.
Jennifer E. Joyce was promoted to manager of administration at Heflin & Williams. Before joining the firm, she founded and operated a trucking, warehousing and freight brokering business.
LAW Gary A. Mills was named a partner with Jones, Blechman, Woltz and Kelly in Newport News. He is a litigator in state and federal courts with emphasis on employment law. He serves as vice chairman of the firm's litigation practice group and is also a member of the employment law practice group.
Dennis T. Lewandowski, a partner with Kaufman & Canoles, was elected vice-chairman of the Virginia Bar Association's Bankruptcy Law Section. He has been with the firm since 1986 and practices in the Creditor's Rights Group.
MANUFACTURING
Stephen M. Smith was named to the board of directors at Ehrenfried Technologies in Suffolk. Smith is principal and treasurer of Joseph Smith Ltd., a Hampton law firm specializing in personal injury law. Ehrenfried manufactures fitness equipment.
ORGANIZATIONS
Roger C. Reinhold was elected president and Dorothy F. Wyron, vice president of the Portsmouth General Hospital Foundation. Reinhold is on the board of Cenit Bank and is active in commercial real estate. Wyron is a retired administrator with the Portsmouth Department of Social Services. The foundation is a private foundation whose mission is to provide grants for innovative health care programs in Portsmouth.
STOCK BROKERAGE
Scott & Stringfellow Inc. promoted John R. Caldwell Jr., John A. Gill and Lawrence E. Waters from first vice presidents to senior vice presidents. Caldwell, an investment broker in the firm's Norfolk office, joined the company in 1992.
Gill joined the firm in 1985 and is in institutional municipal bond sales at the Norfolk office.
Waters joined the firm in 1977. He is an investment broker in the Virginia Beach office.
Also, C. Jordan Ball Jr. has joined the brokerage firm as senior vice president and regional manager of its Central Virginia retail offices. As regional manager, he will have overall responsibilities for retail sales in downtown Richmond, the Chesterfield branch office and any future offices in Central Virginia.
TOURISM
Amy Williamson Jonak was named the new media relations manager for the Hampton Conventions & Tourism Department. She will promote Hampton and its attractions to travel writers and serve as the department's liaison with the local media.
