Normington P. ``Mac'' McClanahan, 84, of the 1600 block of Holly Point Lane, died Saturday, April 6, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a native of Terra Alta, W.Va. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as an engineer. He was an honorary member in the Tidewater Welding Society. Mr. McClanahan was a former board member and trustee of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, member of Camp PD Hunt Club, Holland Hunt Club and the C E & H Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred G. McClanahan; a daughter, Norma Jean Bueschen and husband Anton of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, William W. McClanahan of Suffolk; and two grandchildren, Anton J. Bueschen Jr. and Elaine E. Bueschen.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, by the Rev. Carl J. LeMon. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Bennetts Creek Rescue Squad.
