Today is the last day to register to vote in the May 7 elections.
Citizens can go to their local registrar offices, to state Department of Motor Vehicles offices and state Social Service departments and apply by 5 p.m. today.
Residents mailing applications to Richmond must have them postmarked no later than today.
Each city also has several other locations where residents can register:
CHESAPEAKE
All branches of the Chesapeake library and city treasurer and commissioner of revenue main offices at City Hall.
NORFOLK
All libraries, Ghent Square Community Association, Kay's Alterations, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, the Urban League office.
PORTSMOUTH
All post offices, libraries and nursing homes, the YMCA in Churchland, Farm Fresh at Alexanders Corner, the Sheriff's department and city treasurer and commissioner of revenue offices at City Hall.
SUFFOLK
The main branch post office and library, Bennett's Creek Pharmacy, Holland Dutch Supermarket and the commissioner of revenue office at City Hall.
VIRGINIA BEACH
All libraries and public schools.
