Cecil Hughes Rowe, 76, of the 3500 block of Chesapeake Blvd., a devoted and loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 7, 1996. He died in his residence.
He was a car salesman until he retired after 30 years of service. He was a native of Bridgeton, N.C., and a member of First Church of God Anderson, and he was also a lay minister for the church. Mr. Rowe was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Iva Rowe of Norfolk; two sons, Cecil H. Rowe Jr. of Virginia Beach, Larry B. Rowe of Chesapeake; sister, Kathleen Wright of Edenton, N.C.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday by Pastor Carl Cooper in First Church of God. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Donations may be made to the First Church of God Anderson.
