Minnie E. Edwards, 86, formerly of the 1600 block of Hazel Ave., died April 7, 1996, in a local hospital.
She was the widow of Phillip H. Edwards and was a member of the Salvation Army for 35 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Nellie V. Poulter of Chesapeake; four sons, George C. Edwards of Chesapeake, William L. Edwards of Chesapeake, Hunter L. Edwards of Suffolk, John C. Edwards of Anderson, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by Capt. Rick Mikles at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at 1220 Hawthorne Drive, Chesapeake.
