Lillian Hardesty Waff, 80, of the 1500 block of Kempsville Road, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on April 6, 1996.
Mrs. Waff was born in Great Bridge, Va., and was the widow of Ernest L. Waff. She was retired from the Virginia Beach School System, Transportation Department. She was a 56-year member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three beloved stepdaughters, Grace Moore of Waxahachie, Texas, Beatrice Murray of Virginia Beach and Willie Etta Tackett of Fremont, Calif.; three daughters, Betty Hubbard of Portsmouth, June Pope of Virginia Beach and Brenda Johnson of Franklin, Va.; five sons, Linwood Waff of Humble, Texas, Carey Waff of Dale City, Va., Henry Waff of Chesapeake, the Rev. Rudolph Waff of Sucre, Bolivia and Wayne Waff of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Jessie Morgan and Elizabeth Wittsell, both of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Barbara Etheridge of Powells Point, N.C.; three brothers, Henry Hardesty of Chesapeake, Benjamin Hardesty of Dover, Del., and Jerry Hardesty of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Lena and Benjamin T. Hardesty.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Art Slye and the Rev. Hugh Mason. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Edenton, N.C.
