ELIZABETH M. HAWKINS

Elizabeth M. Hawkins, 65, of the 100 block of Craig St., died April 3, 1996.

She was a native of Norfolk and the widow of James C. Hawkins Sr. She worked at Boulevard Supermarket for 20 years and was a nurse aide for eight years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Norfolk, Berkley Section, where she was a member of the Female Usher Board. She was also a member of the Elizabeth Fragrant Rose Chapter (NU)34, and Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by four daughters, Mildred C. Crique, Belinda D. Hawkins, Inza E. Hawkins, all of Norfolk; six sons, James C. Hawkins Jr., Carlton R. Hawkins, Ronald E. Hawkins, Quinton E. Hawkins, Dwight L. Hawkins, all of Norfolk, David L. Hawkins of Washington, D.C.; mother, Matley Harris of Norfolk; sister, Mabel Lawrence of Philadelphia; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Henry Thomas.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday by Dr. Charles Hart in Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Norfolk. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Family and friends will assemble at 1000 Craig St., Norfolk, Wednesday at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
