An elderly man with Alzheimer's disease reported missing Sunday was returned unharmed to the home of a family member early Monday.
Chesapeake police spokeswoman Elizabeth Jones said 79-year-old Robert E. Doughten left a relative's Woodcott Drive home early Easter morning to get a newspaper, but somehow ended up driving into North Carolina.
A Currituck County, N.C., resident recognized Doughten from media reports and called North Carolina authorities. by CNB
