A show by veteran British rocker Sting was added to the schedule for the opening season of the Virginia Beach amphitheater on Monday, and sale dates for two more concerts were set.
A sale dale [date] for Sting's July 2 appearance has not been announced.
Tickets for the May 18 concert by Vince Gill and Patty Loveless will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Prices are $14.75 (lawn), $22.75 (reserved) and $34.75 (gold circle). Children 12 and under will receive a free lawn ticket when accompanied by an adult holding a paid festival lawn ticket.
Steely Dan tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Prices are $19.75 (lawn) and $34.75 (reserved and gold circle).
Tickets for amphitheater events are available at Ticketmaster outlets, and may be charged at 671-8100.
Sting, who gained fame as the frontman for The Police before moving on to a solo career and also starring in movies, has a new album ``Mercury Rising.''
Gill is the Country Music Association's current Entertainer of the Year and is known for such hits as ``I Still Believe in You'' and ``When I Call Your Name.'' Loveless won the CMA's Album of the Year trophy for her 1994 ``When Fallen Angels Fly.''
Steely Dan, the jazz/rock group known for such albums as ``Aja'' and ``Pretzel Logic,'' reunited in 1993 and has made several tours since. Their most recent disc is ``Alive in America,'' recorded onstage. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
