Anita Lee Shearer, 99, who lived most of her life in Chesapeake, died April 6, 1996, in Yakima, Wash.
Mrs. Shearer, the widow of Columbus ``Andy'' W. Shearer, was a native of Anderson, S.C., and a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Beulah H. Jones of Yakima, Juanita P. Deel of South Mills; three sons, William J. Shearer of Huntersville, N.C., John H. Shearer of Anderson, S.C., Malory T. Shearer of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Annie Ruth Garrison of Anderson, Hilda Huff of Charleston, S.C.; three brothers, William J., Arthur and Grady Mayfield; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Riverside Memorial Park by the Rev. Brad Phillips. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, one hour prior to the service.
