YOUTH TO VIE FOR STATE TITLE

Tarrod Cunningham is the 1996 Youth of the Year for both the Colonial Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Hampton Roads in Norfolk.

Cunningham, a member for 10 years, is the youth representative for the Norfolk City Council and is active in Toastmasters, Torch & Keystone Clubs and The Peace in the City Project.

He will compete against other Boys & Girls Club youths for the Virginia state Youth of the Year title. Five regional winners will be selected from the state winners. Judging for the national title will be held in Washington in September. The winning youth will be officially installed by President Clinton as the 1995/96 National Youth of the Year in a White House ceremony and will receive a $5,000 scholarship from the Reader's Digest Association, Inc. by CNB
