Judge Robert E. Gillette of the g1sfgill Gillette General District Court in Suffolk has completed the Special Court Jurisdiction - Advanced Course held recently at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nev.
The course is designed for recently-appointed judges in courts of limited jurisdiction. The focus is on high volume areas such as traffic, small claims, landlord-tenant, misdemeanors, and cases involving alcohol, drug abuse and domestic violence. The course also covers such topics as judicial immunity and liability, and increasing problem-solving abilities.
