Texie B. Askew, 68, of the 400 block of West Gibbs Road, died Tuesday, April 9, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Askew was born in Franklin, Va., and was the widow of Raymond A. Askew. She retired from Crestar Bank in 1982. Mrs. Askew was a member of Cava Baptist Church.
Survivors include her stepson, Raymond Gary Askew of Windsor; her brother-in-law, John W. Askew Jr. of Knotts Island; her friend, Tommy Heinz of Knotts Island; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. George Baker. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 441 West Gibbs Road.
