This past February, Bill and Elaine Mainker, agents with Coldwell Banker Helfant Realty Inc., in Virginia Beach, were honored for their part in providing housing for disabled Navy veteran Marc Freitag and his family.
They were chosen out of 58,000 Realtors for the International ``Preserving the Trust Award,'' which involves ``professional service beyond the call of duty.''
Chandler Barton, Coldwell Banker chairman, said the Mainkers ``are honored as individuals within the Coldwell Banker family who practice CB's commitment to exceptional service and support to our customers above and beyond the call of duty.''
For all their researching, planning, designing, arranging and general support, as well as selfless acts, the Mainkers feel everyone involved helped out as ``an act of love for very special people,'' says Elaine.
The Mainkers persuaded the builder to share his blueprints with another builder at no cost. They also sold the Freitag's previous two-story home for no commission.
And, they sold the buyer's condo for no commission.
