Gary Allen Goodrich, 44, of the 1700 block of Leckie St., died April 11, 1996, in his residence.
He was a retired nuclear machinist for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 22 years of service. He was a native of Portsmouth and a member of River Shores Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Mr. Goodrich was a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. For the past 15 years he was a baseball and football coach for the Churchland Little League Association.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy W. Goodrich, his loving wife of 25 years; three sons, William T. Goodrich of Roanoke, Brian K. Goodrich and Kevin M. Goodrich, both of Portsmouth; mother, Mary Spry Lindsay of Bowling Green, Mont., stepfather, Ralph C. Lindsay of Bowling Green, Mont.; sister, Ruth Ann Sistrunk of Richmond, Texas; co-worker and best friend, Francis Sturgis.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Thomas H. Mines in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be n Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, South Norfolk Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the residence all other times. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
