ROBERT W. LYON

Robert W. Lyon, 78, of the 2100 block of Hollybriar Point, died April 12, 1996, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer after 20 years of service. He was a native of Elmira, N.Y. Mr. Lyon was a Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was past commander of American Legion Post 327, past district commander, past department vice commander, past chef de gare of the 40-8 Voyager 86, and a member of VFW 3160.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Lyon of Norfolk; brother, Garnet Lyon of Elmira, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and the burial will take place at sea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
