Bell Atlantic officials say they have received complaints from customers about sales people who claim to be working for Bell Atlantic on a billing consolidation project. These individuals, posing as Bell Atlantic sales representatives, ask for authorization from the customer that will result in a discount to their telephone bill. The scam appears to be aimed primarily at business customers.

Bell Atlantic customers receiving such calls and are uncertain about their legitimacy should call the Bell Atlantic business office for verification.

At this time, Bell Atlantic does not provide any long-haul distance service. The only long distance service they offer is short-haul, within the regional calling area.
