Augustine John Filo, 70, of the 300 block of Lineberry Road, died April 13, 1996.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He was also retired from civil service. He was a native of Vandergrift, Pa., and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.
He is survived by his wife, Alice J. Filo; three daughters, Carol A. Lysher of Fredericksburg, Joann F. Jones and Diana L. Filo, both of Virginia Beach; son, John A. Filo of Fredericksburg; four sisters, Stephanie Kocis, Irene Stancik and Margaret Pacuch of Vandergrift, and Mary Firek of Homestead, Pa.; and six grandchildren.
A Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by Father James Noto in St. Nicholas Catholic Church. There will be prayers at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church and a procession to Colonial Grove Memorial Park for burial. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
